Street View Past Years

Now, visit your neighborhood in the past. Google maps has launched a cool new feature for its street view images that lets you see past pictures of various landmarks dating back seven years. The available collections feature imagery of low and medium spatial resolution ranging between 60 to 10 meters/pixel, global coverage, and revisiting periods from 16 days down to several days.

The bar has a horizontal scroll bar that you can adjust from 2001 to the present. Now with street view, you can see a landmark's growth from the ground up, like the freedom tower in new york city or the 2014 world cup stadium in fortaleza, brazil. Click on a map record, and you’ll see the thumbnail and details for that map.

Move the time slider around to view past images categorized by the years they were taken. Now, visit your neighborhood in the past. You can use the street view tool to explore a specific location. Once you slide over a date with previous data, you'll see the preview of it above the slider.
